Mr. Bloom's Glorious Taxonomy

I enjoy checking everyone's blog and when I'm not too lazy I actually sign in and leave a comment or two. I was recently reading a fabulous blog and I was struck by the thoughtful messages. It reminded me of one thing that I actually remember and use from college. BLOOM'S TAXONOMY. This is basically a hierarchy of thinking and learning. The lowest level is knowledge or basic recall of information and then the stages range to evaluation or the ability to make thoughtful judgments. The goal for most teachers is to take their students to higher levels of thinking.

I think my blog is at the basic "knowledge" level. Maybe sometime I'll be able to share something insightful and thought-provoking. In the meantime I'll continue to check everyone's blog for juicy tidbits!

So Expressive

Here are some great pictures of Jack's many faces. These pictures were taken in Boone, North Carolina. We spent a weekend in Boone with Amy and Craig and the kiddos. The fall colors were just popping which made for the most breathtaking drives. Friday and Saturday we stayed at a comfortable cabin and just hung out.

After a perfect weekend getaway we headed back to South Carolina. It was the best vacation. It was almost frightening how comfortable I felt staying at Amy's house. I almost used her toothbrush. Don't worry, I didn't.

Pull out your credit card and get ready to order some new MP3s. Here are three songs from women who rock that everyone needs to have.

1. Belly- Super-connnected
2. Edith Frost- Further
3. Patsy Cline - Stop, Look, and Listen

Luckily you don't have to buy any of these from itunes. They're all on Amazon. Enjoy.

only their own parents think they're pretty

Makes me kind of sad to think of him growing up.
